Wearing Face Mask outside House made mandatory in Odisha

TNI Bureau: The Odisha Government has issued new guidelines yesterday, making it mandatory to wear masks or covering mouth and nose while stepping out of home. It was also confirmed by Odisha Government’s COVID-19 Spokesperson Subroto Bagchi today.

As per the new guidelines, any available form of mask including a handkerchief or any piece of cloth in at least two layers, can be used to cover their mouth and nose. The order will be effective from 7 AM of April 9. District/Municipal authorities are also directed to implement the above decision strictly.

In case people are using disposable/single use masks, such masks shall be properly disposed of by following due procedure prescribed by Health & Family Welfare Department. Cloth masks should be cleaned with soap/detergent/disinfectant and water and sun dried for at least 5 hours after every single use. Masks used by one person must not be used by any other person.

The government believes that masks have been found to be extremely useful in controlling and containment of spread of Novel Corona Virus as seen from several global and national experiences.
