Vedanta resumes Operations at Lanjigarh in Odisha

TNI Bureau: Vedanta Aluminium Ltd. has resumed operations at the Lanjigarh Aluminium refinery in Odisha after being shut for nine days due to shortage of bauxite. The refinery was temporarily shut down on October 13.

Vedanta managed to get bauxite from Chhattisgarh and Gujarat to make its plant operational again. The captive power plant at Lanjigarh refinery is also being made operational.

Vedanta requires 10,000 tonnes of bauxite every day to keep the Lanjigarh plant fully operational. It now has a stock of about 40,000 tonnes of bauxite and more are being procured.
