Utkal Alumina launches Computer Literacy Project

Computer Literacy in RayagadaAs a part of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), Utkal Alumina International Ltd., a flag ship company of Aditya Birla Group has launched an ambitious Computer Literacy Project on the Republic Day. The project was launched by Mr. Vijay Sapra, Unit Head & President in presence of Mr. L. N. Padhi, OKCL District Coordinator, Rayagada District and other dignitaries from the company and the periphery.

Utkal Alumina Jana Seva Trust(UAJST), an organization promoted by the company has collaborated with Odisha Knowledge Corporation Ltd. (OKCL), a Govt. of Odisha Undertaking. UAJST has been approved as an Authorised Learning Centre to promote education. Initially, 24 persons from the periphery have been enrolled for OS-CIT course.

While inaugurating the “Utkal Alumina Computer Learning Centre” at the Aditya Birla Public School campus, Mr.Sapra said that the company was determined for integrated development of the society around the industrial hub and this project will supplement the Digital India initiative. While speaking on the occasion, Mr.Padhi said that this centre will go a long way in making people computer literate in Kashipur block.

The people from the society have appreciated the initiative. Launched under the leadership and guidance of Mr.Raghunath Pratihari, VP-HR and Mr Rakesh Mishra, GM (Admn., CSR and Land & Legal), the project is expected to make more and more people computer literate in the area.
