Two Boyanika Showrooms to be opened in Mayurbhanj

Baripada: Boyanika, Odisha’s apex handloom society, will have two more showrooms in the tribal district of Mayurbhanj district. The two showrooms will be opened at Rairangpur and sadar Baripada with the investment of Rs 15 lakh each.

The foundation stones for the showrooms were laid today by Minister Sarojini Hembram at two places. The showrooms will feature Odisha’s traditional materials like matha, tassar, handloom, khadi, said Mrs Hembram.

The tribal district, which has few cooperative societies, few of them are working and many are in bad condition. The small scale and cottage industries need government’s attention and help. However, the opening of such showrooms will give positive message to the weavers.
