TNI Bureau: In a shocking development, a 25-year-old tribal woman was gangraped at the government hospital in Baripada. Four sweepers of the hospital were among the six who were involved in the heinous crime. All the accused were later arrested.

The incident occurred at around 7 PM on Sunday night on the road behind the T.B. Ward. Apart from the four sweeper, a driver of the mortuary van and a betel (paan) shop owner was also involved.

The accused had beaten up the woman’s husband, when he tried to protest. The woman had come to the hospital to take care of her ailing brother. The accused were identified as Chandan Mukhi, Raghu Biswal, Gopi Mukhi, Sibaram Ghadei, Gundulu Mukhi and Kudan Mukhi.

All the accused were forwarded to the court after medical examination. A chargesheet will be filed soon.
