TNI Bureau: As expected, the Indian selectors have dropped out-of-form Gautam Gambhir from the 15-member team for the two test matches against Australia. Delhi opener Shikhar Dhawan has replaced him in the team. Off-spinner Harbhajan Singh has made a comeback to the team even though he is not at his best.

The selectors have reposed trust in Virender Sehwag. He probably gets a last chance to perform. Murali Vijay is the third opener in the team, but may get a chance to open the innings with Sehwag.

Zaheer Khan did not find a place in the team because of injury. Piyush Chawla and Suresh Raina were ingnored too. There is no place for Yuvraj Singh in the test team.
