This information did not come from Gujarat Police! It was revealed by the Tamil Nadu police on the basis of interrogation of Fakruddin alias Police, who had reportedly done a recce in Gujarat to assassinate BJP’s Prime Ministerial candidate Narendra Modi.
Fakruddin told the Tamil Nadu Police Q branch that he was taken to Gujarat by Abubakar Siddique, but failed to execute his plan due to the tough security chain around Modi. Later, it was being planned to target Modi during the Chennai rally later this month.

Fakruddin, Bilal Malik and Panna Ismail were involved in the 2011 Tirumangalam (Madurai) pipe bomb case and the murders of BJP leader V Ramesh and RSS activist R Vellaiyappan. They also carried out the bomb blast outside BJP’s Bangalore office on April 17. The trio have been arrested by the Tamil Nadu police.
The TN police also seized 17 kg of explosives and 141 electric detonators from a house in Melapalayam in Tirunelveli and arrested Tasim, Katta Shahul, Kutty alias Noorul Hameed, Samsu and Bismi.
