Earlier, the shutdown was observed in Palghar following a call by Shiv Sena over suspension of Thane SP and Palghar SI in connection with the arrest of two girls, who had posted on Facebook criticising Mumbai bandh. Even Palghar judge was transferred, who had granted them bail. Reacting to the court’s move, the Palghar BAr Association had called for a bandh in the courts protesting the transfer of the local Judicial Magistrate First Class.

After the demise of Shiv Sena patriarch Bal Thackeray, while entire Mumbaikers were paying their tearful tribute to their adorable leader, two girls posted comments on Facebook reacting to the shutdown of Mumbai on the day of Bal Thackeray.
