Srishti Asthana in Finals of Google Science Fair

A Class XI student from Mohali in Punjab has made the country proud after being named among the top 15 finalists of the Google Science Fair 2013.

Srishti AsthanaThe 15-year-old girl Srishti Asthana is the student of Millenium School. She was chosen among the thousands of the participants from 120 countries for presenting a project on “Solar Light Assisted nanoZnO Photo Catalytic Mineralisation – The Green Technique for the Degradation of Detergents”.

Srishti along with other finalists will move to Google Mountain View headquarters, USA, on September 30, where she will present her project before the panel, consists of group of scientists, in the final round of the competition.

The competition had started in January 2011. Thousands of students under 13-18 age groups had participated in the science fair. Srishti was selected for her presentation on a different topic, which was highly appreciated. She formulated a hypothesis, conducted an experiment on how her proposed methods are effective in remediating the waste water.

Let’s see whether her project impresses the juries and she beats others in the final round.
