Speeding Train kills 6 Elephants in Odisha

TNI Bureau: The Chennai-bound Coromondel Express from Howrah ran over a her of elephant near Subalaya in Rambha in Odisha’s Ganjam district, killing six of them on the spot. The dead elephants included two calves.

The incident occurred at around midnight on Saturday. A Bed Roll attendant, who was inside the train, too died in the mishap. It is not yet known how he fell victim.

Rail traffic between Berhampur and Bhubaneswar was halted for a few hours, as the train sustained some damage. Later, normalcy was restored on the route.
