Rohinton F Nariman resigns as Solicitor General

Date:

TNI Bureau: In a surprising development, Solicitor General of India, Rohinton F Nariman has resigned from his post with immediate effect. Nariman sent his resignation to the PM with a copy to Union Law Minister Ashwani Kumar.

RF Nariman was appointed as the Solicitor General in July 2011 after Gopal Subramaniam quit his post protesting against Nariman’s interference in 2G scam.

It is not immediately known why Nariman resigned. Some rumours suggest that he was not on the same page with the government on various issues and had to resign to protect his self-respect.
