The launch marks a major milestone in India’s push towards green and sustainable rail transport.

Developed using indigenous technology, the hydrogen train will cut carbon emissions and reduce dependence on fossil fuels, making India one of a select few countries to introduce hydrogen-powered passenger rail services.

According to the Ministry of Railways, the project has been designed and developed entirely in India under the Atmanirbhar Bharat initiative.
