TNI Bureau: In a significant move towards the operationalisation of the South Coast Railway (SCoR) zone, the Ministry of Railways has transferred the Palasa-Ichchapuram section from the East Coast Railway’s (ECoR) Khordha Road Division to the South Coast Railway’s (SCoR) Visakhapatnam Division.
The Palasa-Ichchapuram stretch is currently under the administration of the Khordha Road division within the East Coast Railway (ECoR) will fall under SCoR’s Visakhapatnam Division.
This decision strengthens the operational jurisdiction of the newly operational South Coast Railway Zone, headquartered in Visakhapatnam, which commenced full-fledged operations in April 2026.
