TNI Bureau: In a significant political development in Odisha, former Bargarh Congress MLA Sadhu Nepak formally rejoined the Indian National Congress at the Congress Bhavan, accompanied by hundreds of his supporters. He had earlier left the Biju Janata Dal before returning to his former party fold.
The induction took place in the presence of Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee (OPCC) President Bhakta Charan Das, co-incharge Jetti Kusum Kumar, and several senior party leaders. The event was coordinated by media cell chairman Arvind Das, who highlighted Nepak’s political journey and Bargarh’s longstanding association with the Congress.
Addressing the gathering, Bhakta Charan Das recalled his association with Nepak during the tenure of former Chief Minister Hemananda Biswal. He described Nepak as a grassroots leader who has consistently championed the cause of farmers and marginalized communities. Das expressed confidence that Nepak’s return would strengthen the party in western Odisha.
Speaking on the occasion, Sadhu Nepak said he was deeply inspired by Das’s leadership and ideology. “Though I was politically elsewhere, my heart always remained with the Congress,” he remarked, adding that he is committed to working tirelessly to rebuild the organization.
Several senior leaders, including Suresh Routray, Santosh Singh Saluja, Lalatendu Bidyadhar Mohapatra, Siddharth Swarup Dash, Hamid Hussain, and Sunita Biswal were present at the event.
