Date:

TNI Bureau: Upendra Kushwaha, a Rajya Sabha MP from Bihar, has revolted against Nitish Kumar and resigned as the RS member and from the primary membership of the party. He recently defied the party whip and decided in favour of FDI in Retail on Rajya Sabha, offering full support to the Congress-led UPA Government.

Upendra Kushwaha is seen as a powerful leader in Bihar. He worked hard with full support to Nitish Kumar to oust RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav in 2005. His exit is being viewed as a big setback to JD(U).
