Baripada: The newly revised delimitation of wards in Baripada has raised eyebrows in many circles, as out of the total 28 wards, 50% has been reserved exclusively for women. The remaining 14 wards have reservations for SC, ST and OBCs too.

Thus, only a few wards are left for the general candidates, leading to widespread resentment in the town. As per the rotation policy, the Chairperson of Municipality will be woman this time.
The H & UD has reportedly urged the people to come up with their grievances along with valid reasons if they are dissatisfied with the present notification.
