TNI Bureau: Rabi Kanungo, a celebrated columnist, journalist, and literary figure from Rourkela, Odisha, passed away at the age of 83 late Wednesday night at a private hospital in Bhubaneswar, where he had been undergoing treatment for illness.
A prominent name in Odia language, literature, and journalism, Kanungo served as the editor of the Odia daily Suryaprabha and was widely respected for his bold, principled, and independent journalism. He was regarded as a pioneer in promoting and preserving the Odia language through his writings and editorial leadership.
