The quota in promotions bill was a long-standing demand of the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP), while the Samajwadi Party (SP) vehemently opposed it.

The bill would now be presented in Lok Sabha. With major political parties supporting the bill, it is all set to become a law even though 18 lakh government employees have been on a strike in protest against the bill.

Reservation on entry level is justified to
1.0 SC/ST class but not to those who are well off.It is seen that this advantage is going to them who really deserve it.It is being enjoyed by karorpati CLASS of SC/ST.
2.0 Reservation in promotion will produce incompetent engineers/doctors/scientists/professors/and specialists in so many fields.
3.0 Apart from it ,society will suffer a loss which would be beyond imagination.
