Nadal broke the record of Bjorn Borg, who had won the French Open Singles for six times. The final was interrupted by heavy rain on Sunday and it was completed on Monday.

Rafael Nadal now holds an amazing record in French Open. He has won 52 matches, while lost just one so far. It was also his 16th Grand Slam final. Nadal has won 11 Grand Slam titles now.

Novak Djokovic, who is holding the Wimbledon, US Open and Australian Open, narrowly missed the milestone of holding all four Grand Slams with this loss. He was chasing the record of Don Budge (1938) and Rod Laver (1962 and 1969).
