Odisha Electricity Regulatory Commission (OERC) hiked power tariff by 10 paise per unit, which will put an extra burden on the consumers during summer season. The increase will be effective from April 1.
However, there will be no rise in tariff for irrigation, pumping and agriculture and allied agricultural activities. There has been a marginal rise from 380 paise to 400 paise for allied agro-industrial activities.
The high tension (HT) and extra high tension (EHT) consumers availing power through dedicated feeder from grid or primary sub-station will have to pay additional reliability surcharge 20 paise per unit.
The Reconnection charges have been increased for the defaulting consumers, who are not paying electricity bill in time.
