Yet again, the Odisha Govt proved that it lacks a proper strategy team, remains poor in research and fails in its groundwork as the MLA salary hike fiasco put them on a clear back foot.

The public as well as the party leaders and workers gave a big thumbs down to the attempt of becoming a “Dubious No. 1” in the country. Despite the backlash, MLAs tried to put up a volt face, justifying the hike. Only Laxman Munda and Naveen Patnaik were the exceptions.
Intervention of Raj Bhavan and Central Government changed the scenario and forced the government to reverse the hike, and save face to some extent. The damage is already done and it should serve as a wake up call for the government and party.
