Phailin Loss: Forest Department seeks Rs 2,365 Lakh

Bhubaneswar, October 30, 2013: Additional requirement of fund amounting 2365 lakhs from Govt. of India has been sought by the Forest & Environment Department for the following schemes for restoration and repair activities relating to plantations/ forests/ infrastructures damaged due to cyclone “Phailin”, which struck the coast of Odisha on 12th,13th October- 2013.

Odisha-Forest-DepartmentThe schemes include Nadankanan zoological under CZA assistance Rs.24.52 lakhs, integrated development of wild life Habitats are Rs.329 lakhs, Odisha Project tiger (Satakosia) is Rs.129 lakhs, Conservation & Management of mangroves is Rs.97.50 lakhs, Rs.330 lskhs for Bamboo Mission and Rs.1455 lskhs for National afforestation programme, all total Rs.2365.02 lakh.

Forest and Environment Minister Sri Bijayshree Routray, Principal Secretary Forest & Environment Sri R. K. Sharma have emphasized to expedite more plantation in Phailin affected areas as told in a high level meeting in secretariat Ministers chamber.
