TNI Bureau: The Primary Teachers’ Association of Odisha has expressed deep disappointment over the government’s failure to fulfill its key demands, despite assurances made during a five-day protest held in December at Lower PMG, Bhubaneswar.
According to an organizational message issued on March 31, 2026, teachers across the state had actively participated in the agitation from December 5 to 9. During the protest, Ekamra MLA Babu Singh and former MP Bishweshwar Tudu, representing the government, had assured that the demands would be addressed.
However, even after nearly four months, the promises remain unfulfilled, leaving teachers disheartened. In a recent बैठक, the association’s convenor and members unanimously decided to intensify their agitation.
The association has set April 7, 2026, as the deadline for the government to act. Failing this, members of the steering committee will stage an indefinite dharna in Bhubaneswar starting April 8 until their demands are met.
Convenor Ramlal Patel has appealed to all teachers across Odisha to extend moral support and cooperate fully in the movement to ensure justice for the teaching community.
