Odisha Govt issues clarification on 5kg LPG Cylinders

TNI Bureau: The Odisha Government has clarified that there is no ban on 5 kg LPG cylinders sold by Oil Marketing Companies. Migrant workers and students can avail them with valid ID or eKYC.

The restriction applies only to open market sales of 5kg Cylinders, says the government while emphasising that enforcement targets illegal cylinders, black marketing, and hoarding.

However, access and availability at OMC Counters, will remain a big challenge, as a “large number” of students & migrants depend on open sale.
