TNI Bureau: The Odisha government has directed all departments to immediately clear pending payments to Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) following concerns raised over large outstanding dues.
In a letter, the Electronics & Information Technology Department asked secretaries of all departments to reconcile pending bills with BSNL officials and expedite settlement of arrears.
The directive came after the Union Ministry of Communications flagged the issue. Union Communications Minister Jyotiraditya M. Scindia had written to the Chief Minister, stating that delayed payments were creating operational constraints and could affect telecom services in government offices.
The state government has now directed all departments to act quickly to clear dues and ensure uninterrupted telecom services.
