TNI Bureau: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has approved a salary increase for contractual AYUSH doctors working under the National Health Mission (NHM), in recognition of their contribution to the state’s healthcare system.
Under the new decision, monthly salaries will be increased based on years of service, with hikes ranging from ₹20,000 to ₹40,000. Doctors with less than five years of service will receive a ₹20,000 increase, taking their minimum salary to ₹56,948. Those with 5–10 years of service will see a ₹25,000 hike, raising their pay to ₹74,467. Doctors with 10–15 years of service will get a ₹30,000 increase, taking their salary to ₹80,467, while those with more than 15 years of service will receive a ₹40,000 hike, raising their pay to ₹91,467.
At present, 2,912 AYUSH doctors are engaged under NHM in Odisha. The decision will result in an additional annual expenditure of about ₹1 crore for the state government.
The Chief Minister expressed confidence that this move will further strengthen AYUSH healthcare services across the state.
