TNI Bureau: United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon has announced that November 10, 2012 will be celebrated as Malala Day worldwide. The day will mark the 30-day anniversary of the Taliban attack on 15-year-old education campaigner from Pakistan, Malala Yousufzai.
Ban Ki-Moon noted that Malala is an inspiration for girls’ education across the world. He further hoped that celebrating Malala Day will step up the efforts on UN’s Education First initiative.
