According to initial reports, unidentified miscreants allegedly targeted Jena’s house late at night, creating tension in the area. While the exact motive behind the attack is still under investigation, the incident has triggered sharp political reactions across Odisha.

In his statement shared on social media, Patnaik expressed deep concern over the incident and emphasized that such acts of violence have no place in a democratic society. He urged the authorities to take swift and strict action against those responsible and ensure the safety of public representatives.

The BJD supremo also underscored the need to maintain peace and law and order, warning against the rising trend of politically motivated aggression. His response signals the party’s serious stance on the issue, especially at a time when political tensions in the state appear to be intensifying.

Meanwhile, party workers and supporters have expressed solidarity with Pratap Jena, demanding a thorough investigation and immediate arrests. Security around key political figures is also likely to be reviewed in the wake of the incident.

The attack has once again raised concerns about political violence in Odisha, with calls growing louder for accountability and stronger preventive measures.
