Naveen launches Re.1 kg Rice Scheme in Malkangiri

TNI Bureau: As announced on the Republic Day, Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik launched the Re. 1 per kg rice scheme in a state level function held in Malkangiri today. The scheme, for which BJD faced criticism from the economists and political analysts, will somehow help the government to get votes in the next assembly polls.

During Naveen’s one-day visit to the tribal district, he addressed the crowd at the DNK Ground after flagging off a dozen of projects for Malkangiri and Balimela covering Chitrakonda.

The CM reached the Anti-Extremists Training (AET) helipad in the premises of District Police Office by a Deccan Charters Helicopter straight from Visakhapatnam at around 12.00 noon and from there he moved to District Education Office to lay the foundation stone for a new office building.

He flagged off and laid the foundation stones in Malkangiri town for soil testing laboratory building, Deputy Director(Agricultures) office building at Lathiaguda, eco-tourism development at Malyabanta hill, children’s park, multipurpose hall in the Sileru Hostel premises, child care unit, digital X-ray machine at district headquarters hospital.
