Mumbai: Teen kidnapped, killed by Cousin for Ransom

In a shocking incident, a 13-year-old boy was kidnapped by his cousin and then brutally murdered by his friend in Mumbai for ransom. Police revealed that the cousin had lost Rs 10 lakh over betting on IPL T20 matches.

The accused Himanshu kidnapped his cousin Aditya Ranka from South Mumbai after losing money in an IPL bet. The teen was burnt to death by his cousin’s friend Vijay Singhavi when the police took up the case.

Both Himanshu and Singhavi first kidnapped Aditya, then made a call to his family seeking Rs 30 lakh as ransom. When Aditya’s family found Himanshu’s hand behind the kidnapping, they immediately informed the police.

Police said that when the two realised that the case has been taken up by crime branch, local police, they got nervous and then brought weapons and match box to kill Aditya. Both the accused were later arrested and they have confessed to the crime.
