In yet another shocking incident, an orphanage in Naxapali in Sambalpur, was raided and shut down and the person in-charge was arrested after it came to light that he was raping and molesting minor girls living there. The accused was identified as Upinder Das (40) of Samastipur, Bihar.

In the past one month, the accused raped two minor girls twice and molested two others. The police raided the orphanage after receiving a tip-off from a retired lady doctor of Sambalpur, who visits the orphanage on a regular basis. Some girls had complained the matter to the lady doctor on various occasions, prompting her to raise the issue with the police.
