TNI Bureau: Mahindra & Mahindra has launched its Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV), Quanto, which is available at a starting price of Rs 5.82 lakh. The SUV hit the road amid the protests, which were sparked after diesel price hike.
The diesel price hike might be a huge burden for the common people, but the SUVs will always be the first choice for the aristocrats and industrialists instead of sedans.
The 7-seater SUV Quanto comes with four variants: C2 priced at Rs 5.82 lakh, C4 priced at Rs 6.35 lakh, C6 priced at Rs 6.86 lakh & C8 priced at Rs 7.36 lakh (ex-showroom Thane).
All the variants are powered by a 1.5 litre mCR100 diesel engine, which gives an output of 100bhp and 240nm of torque. The mCR100 engine has twin stage turbo technology for power and torque delivery.
The SUV is available in 6 colours – Fiery Black, Mist Silver, Toreador Red, Java Brown, Diamond White and Rocky Beige. It comes with safety features like dual air bags, ABS with EBD, an engine immobilizer, fog lamps and a high speed warning system.
Quanto is the smallest SUV in Mahindra’s cars. It will compete with premium hatchbacks like Hyundai’s i20 and Volkswagen’s Polo. If the SUV gets positive response in Indian market, Mahindra will export it to Europe and South Africa in 3-4 months.
