The accused is the Assistant Police Inspector Sachin Suryavanshi. He was suspended following the departmental inquiry, which was set up last week to probe the entire episode.

It was alleged that Suryavanshi had misbehaved with MLA Kshitik Thakur. He had stopped the MLA’s vehicle when Thakur was on his way to attend the Assembly. Following the incident Suryavanshi was beaten up by a group of MLAs at the entrance to the visitors’ gallery in the House.

The MLAs, who had thrashed the police officer, were Ram Kadam, Kshitik Thakur, Rajan Salvi, and Pradeep Jaiswal. They were also suspended till the year end for assaulting Suryavanshi last week. However, they were granted bail today.
