TNI Bureau: The much-discussed Lokpal Bill was tabled in the Rajya Sabha today amidst ruckus created by Samajwadi Party and BSP members over reservation for Scs and STs in government job and the promotions. The draft, which has been already rejected by Anna Hazare and his associates, suggests delinking of Lokayuktas from Lokpal Bill.

The draft tabled by the Select Committee member Shantaram Naik recommends the inclusion of Prime Minister. However, the matters related to external affairs, internal security, and nuclear power should not come under the purview of Lokpal.
However, the fate of the Bill is still uncertain as the parliament was paralysed for the second day over the issue of FDI in retail, and quota in job promotion for SCs and STs.
