The move came on a day when Renukacharya attacked former Chief Minister DV Sadananda Gowda alleging him of corruption and threatened to expose him. He is belived to be close to Yeddyurappa. It can be seen as a strong initiative against indiscipline in the party after Prahlad Joshi took over the charge as the state BJP chief.

Gowda also alleged that Renukacharya was targeting him. Earlier, the BJP leader had made comments against his partymen including Deputy Chief Minister KS Eshwarappa.
