Jagan Mohan walks out of Jail after 16 Months

Date:

After spending 16 months in jail in connection with corruption charges and disproportionate assets, YSR Congress chief Jagan Mohan Reddy has finally become a free man today. He was granted bail by a CBI Court yesterday. Thousands of supporters gathered outside the Chanchalguda Jail in Hyderabad to get a glimpse of their leader. Jagan’s family members were also present there. It was a big emotional moment for his family, fans and supporters.

Jagan-MohanAlthough Jagan Mohan was released, he cannot leave Hyderabad without the court’s permission. The 40-year-old Kadapa MP was arrested by the CBI on May 27, 2012 after he dared to revolt against the Congress High Command on various issues.

The CBI has so far filed 10 chargesheets against him and others. Several other Congress leaders and former Ministers who have shown allegiance to him, were also named in the chargesheet.

It is strongly believed that the Congress Party has secretly forged a deal with Jagan’s YSR Congress to revive its declining fortunes in the state in the wake of a possible TDP-BJP alliance, which is on the cards. Jagan, who is highly popular in Seemandhra region, may help the Congress to defeat TDP-BJP alliance.
