7.8 Earthquake hits Balochistan, Tremors in Delhi, NCR

A powerful earthquake, measuring 7.8 on the Richter Scale, has hit the Balochistan region of Pakistan this evening. Tremors were felt in Delhi, NCR and other parts of North India. No damages or casulaties have been reported so far in India. However, over 30 people are said to be dead in Pakistan.

The epicentre of the earthquake was 145 miles South-East of Dalbandin in Balochistan on Pakistan- Afghanistan border. Many houses collapsed in that region. Number of casualties may go up further.

In Delhi-NCR, the magnitude of the earthquake was 6.9, which is still considered very high. People came out of their houses and offices out of panic. Further details are awaited from Balochistan.
