At the press conference yesterday, BCCI President N Srinivasan put up a volt face and claimed that his son-in-law Gurunath Meiyappan was not the CSK owner or CEO and stayed with the team just as a ” young enthusiast”. The email sent by then IPL Commissioner Rajiv Shukla to all franchise owners, included Meiyappan and all of them were addressed as ‘Dear Owners’.

The email sent was on December 24, 2011. Since Gurunath was one of the recipients, Srinivasan’s lies were completely exposed. However, he still remains defiant and stubdonpato and refused to step down. Srinivasan also accused the media of hounding him.

Srinivasan had claimed that Gurunath Meiyappan was neither the owner of their team nor the CEO/ team principal. The BCCI President was booed and jeered by the Eden Garden crowd last night when his name was announced by Ravi Shastri during the post-match presentation. Srinivasan defied everyone and presented the IPL Trophy to Mumbai Indians.
