IPL 6: Mumbai beat Delhi, Bangalore beat Hyderabad

The Mumbai Indians scored an emphatic victory over the Delhi Daredevils in the IPL 6 encounter last night. The Royal Challengers Bangalore halted the victory march of Sunrisers Hyderabad with an emphatic seven-wicket victory.

At Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai posted 209/5 in 20 overs, thanks to Dinesh Karthik (86 off 48 balls) and Rohit Sharma *74* off 50 balls). Rayudu scored 24. Ashish Nehra took two wickets. Chasing a victory target of 210, Delhi Daredevils fought hard, but could manage to score just 165/9 in 20 overs and lost the match by 44 runs. Warner scored 61, while Manprit Juneja made 49. Morne Morkel remained not out on 23. For Mumbai, Mitchell Johnson, Pragyan Ojha and Kieron Pollard took two wickets each. Dinesh Karthik was declared ‘Man of the Match’.

In the other match, Sunrisers Hyderabad posted 161/6 in 20 overs. Cameron White (52), Perera (40), Parthiv (20) and Sangakkara (23) were the top scorers. RP Singh took three wickets. Skipper Virat Kohli led the run chase from the front and remained unbeaten at 93(47), as RCB reached 162/3 in 17.4 overs. Mayank Agarwal made 29. Kohli was declared ‘Man of the Match’.
