IPL 6: Delhi beat Mumbai by 9 Wickets

Delhi Daredevils opened their account in the ongoing IPL 6 with a win over Mumbai Indians on Sunday. Virender Sehwag’s tremendous performance helped Delhi to break the jinx of six straight defeats.

Chasing a target of 162, Sehwag and skipper Mahela Jayawardene led the team to the victory. Sehwag returned to form with an unbeaten 95 (13 fours and two sixes) off 57 balls. Jayawardene hit 59 (8 boundaries and one six) during his 43-ball knock. The team won by nine wickets in 17 overs. Sehwag was the Man of the Match.

Sachin Tendulkar and Rohit Sharma first showed their performance at Delhi’s Feroz Shah Kotla stadium during the first session. Later, Sehwag and Jayawardene enthralled the crowd in the second half. Mumbai Indians had won the toss and elected to bat first. They scored 161/4 in 20 overs.
