Suresh Raina scored an unbeaten 100, as Chennai Super Kings defeated Kings XI Punjab by 15 runs to register their seventh straight win in the IPL 6 to retain the top position in the points table.
Chennai won the toss and elected to bat first. They posted 186/4 in 20 overs. Apart from Raina, Michael Hussey (35) and Albie Morkel (23) were the other top scorers. Parvinder Awana took two wickets.
Chasing a victory target of 187, Kings XI Punjab finished at 171/6 in 20 overs. Shaun Marsh scored 73, while David Hussey made 22. David Miller remained unbeaten on 51 off 26 balls. KXIP needed 18 from the last overs, but could manage to score just 3 runs and lost three wickets to Bravo. Mohit Sharma took two wickets. Raina was declared ‘Man of the Match’.
