Indian Women win Kabaddi Gold at Incheon

Defending champions India continued to dominate Women’s Kabaddi, as they won Gold medal today at the Incheon Asian Games to take India’s Gold tally to 10. The Indian Women did well to overcome the spirited Iranian challenge.

Kabaddi-WomenThe Women’s Team drew the first blood this morning, as they defeated the furious Iranian Women 31-21. At half time, the Indians were leading 15-11, but they bounced back strongly in the second half to extend the lead and win the match. India managed to win two ‘lona’ in this match.

India had defeated 2010 silver medalist Thailand 41-28 in the semifinal. Iran had thrashed Bangladesh 40-15 in the other semifinal.
