The report said Abdullah was not aware of India’s displeasure over the issue. Maldives President Mohamad Waheed is likely to write a letter to Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh clarifying the issue.

On Monday, the Singapore High Court stayed the termination of Indian Infrastructure giant’s $500 million Male airport project, carried out by the Maldives government.

The Maldives government claimed that the project was terminated under domestic political pressure. Later, the GMR had moved the Singapore High Court against the decision.
