1) The BJP made an issue of Rahul Gandhi taking a nap during the most important price rise debate in Lok Sabha today. The Congress went on a defensive to defend Rahul and said he was not sleeping, but listening to debate very carefully during a catnap.

4) Stuart Binny made his Test debut against England at Trent Bridge, Nottingham. India won the toss and elected to bat first in the first Test match. After a good partnership between Murli Vijay and Cheteshwar Pujara, India lost two quick wickets after Lunch. India were 138/3 when reports last received. Vijay was batting on 72. Pujara scored 38. Anderson took two wickets.
