TNI Bureau: India delivered a historic performance to defeat New Zealand in the final and lift the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup trophy in emphatic fashion at Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad.

Batting first, India produced a batting masterclass, piling up a massive 255/5 in 20 overs. The innings was anchored by a brilliant knock from Sanju Samson, who smashed 89 off 46 balls, combining elegance with aggressive stroke play. He was well supported by Ishan Kishan, whose explosive 54 off 25 balls gave India early momentum and put the Kiwi bowlers under pressure.

Facing a daunting target, New Zealand struggled to build partnerships and were eventually bowled out for 159 in 19 overs. India’s bowling attack proved too strong, with pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah delivering a sensational spell, claiming 4 wickets for 15 runs. All-rounder Axar Patel further tightened India’s grip by taking 3 wickets, dismantling the middle order.

India sealed a 96-run victory, one of the most dominant wins in a T20 World Cup final. The triumph sparked celebrations across the country as fans hailed the team’s fearless batting, disciplined bowling, and commanding performance on the biggest stage of international cricket. Jasprit Bumrah was declared ‘Player of the Match’, while Sanju Samson won the ‘Player of the Series’ award.
