Illegal Mining: Shah Commission to visit Odisha Today

TNI Bureau: Justice MB Shah Commission, appointed by the Centre to probe into the illegal mining in Odisha, will visit the state today for the third time. The panel will go through the documents of 99 mines, accused in the mining scam.

During 12-day visit, the team will go to Barbil and Keonjhar to meet the district officials in the ongoing probe. The team will visit Koida mines on Thursday.

The Commission has also sought the state government’s reply on restriction on export of iron ore and measures taken by the mining lease holders to control pollution in the mining areas.
