TNI Bureau: The Indian Political Action Committee (I-PAC), a non-partisan political consulting organisation, confirmed that officials from the Enforcement Directorate (ED) conducted searches at its office in Kolkata as well as at the residence of its Director, Pratik Jain.
In an official statement, I-PAC said the searches were carried out a day earlier and described the development as “unfortunate” for a professional organisation that has operated in the public domain for over a decade. The organisation expressed concern over the implications of the action but emphasised that it is fully cooperating with the investigating agency.
“I-PAC has extended complete cooperation and will continue to engage with the process in full accordance with the law,” the statement said.
Founded over ten years ago, I-PAC works as a professional political advisory platform and does not contest elections or hold political office. The organisation stated that its role is limited to providing transparent and professional political consulting services, irrespective of ideology.
Over the years, I-PAC has worked with multiple political parties across the country, including the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Indian National Congress, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), All India Trinamool Congress (TMC), Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK), YSR Congress Party, Telangana Rashtra Samithi (now BRS), Janata Dal (United) and Shiv Sena, among others.
The organisation reiterated its commitment to professional integrity, stating that it remains focused on its core mission of enabling citizen participation in the democratic process. Despite the recent developments, I-PAC said it will continue its work “unfazed and unperturbed,” guided by accountability and ethical standards.
The Enforcement Directorate has not issued any official statement on the searches so far.
