The recent remarks by Gujarat Chief Minister and BJP’s election campaign panel Chief Narendra Modi on the 2002 Gujarat riots sparked off a major political controversy. Congress was quick to comment on his statement saying, Modi’s words are against the idea of India.
Congress said that the latest remark is the reflection of Modi’s perverse mindset. The CPM also slammed Modi for justifying the Gujarat riots in 2002, saying it was shameful that the leader did not express regrets for it.
Modi, who believes in inclusive development, identified hismelf as a Hindu Nationalist. In an interview, he said that he was a born Hindu and he was a patriotic and nothing was wrong in it.
Such things before 2014 elections may put Modi in big trouble. However, he defended his comments and took to Twitter. He said, “In our culture every form of life is valued & worshipped. My original interview with Reuters http://nm4.in/138jss0…People are best judge.”
