Hi-Tech Group moves HC on Frozen Bank Accounts

TNI Bureau: The Hi-Tech Group has moved the Orissa High Court, seeking the release of their bank accounts, which were frozen by the Crime Branch in a land fraud case. Hi-Tech Group MD Tirupati Panigrahi and two other directors are still lodged in jail.

The division bench of Acting Chief Justice PK Mohanty and Justice SK Mishra has directed the government to produce all records of the case by January 11.

In its petition, the Hi-Tech Group has argued that it has several other institutions like colleges, schools and hospitals under the banner of charitable trusts. Since the bank accounts are frozen, the company is facing to difficulties to manage those, it was said.
