TNI Bureau: The helpline number for Delhi women, which was slated to be launched on Monday morning, was operational on MTNL, Airtel. The launch was delayed due to technical glitches. The Delhi government blamed the MTNL for the glitch.

After the launch of the number, women in distress can dial CM’s helpline number 181 to get better assistance and protection.
Bowing down head to the anti-rape protests, the Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit had announced to make the helpline number operational for women in distress.
